SIS Sponsor Alain and Dylan's Dream for Oylmpic Success
Alain Sign and Dylan Fletcher were delighted when Solent Interior Systems (SIS) Ltd, the UK's leading commercial space planning solutions providers, agreed to sponsor their sailing boat having just been selected for the Skandia Team Great Britain Transitional Squad.
With their sights firmly set on the 2012 Olympic Games, Alain aged 21 and Dylan aged 19, are already world champions in their own right.
Dylan is currently ranked first youth in the world and second in the world overall in his class having won both the 29er Youth World Championship gold medal and the overall World Championship Silver medal (in 2006). Alain also won the same titles in a 29er two years ago along with being named National and European Champion, he is currently sailing a 49er and is already in the Olympic Development programme.
Their successful performances have recently earned them an invitation to train with the RYA Olympic Development Squad and now look forward to a year packed full of crucial racing competitions around the world.
The guys have just completed three major racing events; one in Palma named the Princess Sophia Regatta, the Holland Regatta in Medemblik and the 39th French Olympic Sailing Week, a major meeting for the best sailors in the world with more than 1000 competitors from over 50 countries competing in Hyeres waters. It was the perfect opportunity for national teams to compete with the same regatta format as the Olympic Games.
The on-going racing calendar of events will then see Alain and Dylan at the World Champion Olympic Qualifiers in Portugal this July.
With over 17 years experience in sailing between them, they both know the importance of hard work and dedication. Alain said:
"It is our dream to make it to the 2012 Olympic Games but we are realistic and understand the long road that is in front of us. We have a number of busy years ahead of training and racing but we are delighted that SIS will be there every step of the way."
